Doha Institute for Graduate Studies opens admissions for 2021-2022

Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) has announced the opening of admissions for academic 2021-2022.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Ibrahim Freihat, has invited students wishing to apply for graduate studies and have met the minimum requirements for admission to complete the electronic application on DI’s official website which opened yesterday and continues until February 15, 2021. The institute awards Master Degrees in the following programmes at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities: Comparative Literature, Media and Culture Studies, History, Journalism, Politics and International Relations, Philosophy, Linguistics and Arabic Lexicography, Sociology and Anthropology, Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action, Critical Security Studies, Psychology, Social Work and Human Rights. While the School of Public Administration and Development Economics offers Master’s in Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Economics and Executive Master of Public Administration.

Admissions for academic 2020-2021 amounted to about 279 students, out of nearly 10,000 applications submitted from all Arab countries and some foreign countries.


Qatar welcomes truce between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Qatar welcomed the US State Department’s announcement of a humanitarian truce between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s hope that Azerbaijan and Armenia will abide by the truce that paves the way for resolving the dispute through dialogue and diplomatic means in a manner that preserves the interests of the two countries and two peoples. The statement also affirmed Qatar’s support for the international efforts aimed at restoring security, stability and peace in the region.


Kia Carnival, Sorento models recalled

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in co-operation with Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company, dealer of Kia in Qatar, has announced a recall of Kia Carnival (VQ) models of 2006-2010 and Sorento (BL) models of 2007-2009, as an electrical short (short-circuit) that might occur in the ABS/ESC control unit, can cause it to stop functioning.


Mercedes-Benz Tourismo models recalled

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in co-operation with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles, announced the recall of Mercedes-Benz Tourismo bus models of 2016-2018 as the closing force provided by the locking system is inadequate on passenger doors.
