Doha, Qatar: Discover Qatar, the destination management company of Qatar Airways, has announced the launch of its exclusive air tour, Discover Doha by Air. This new venture allows travellers to experience Qatar's stunning landscapes and iconic landmarks from the comfort of a light aircraft.
Discover Doha by Air caters to explorers seeking unique and bespoke adventures, offering a thrilling combination of adventure and exploration, according to a press release by Qatar Airways.
Each air tour accommodates up to eight passengers in an air-conditioned cabin of a Cessna 208 Caravan, a single-engine light turboprop aircraft with large windows ideal for aerial viewing. Onboard headphones will provide clear in-flight commentary from the pilots, enhancing the experience.
Steven Reynolds, Senior Vice President of Discover Qatar, said: "Guests are invited to embark on an unforgettable journey around Doha's skies, soaring above remarkable landscapes and cultural treasures on the Cessna 208 Caravan. At Discover Qatar, we continuously work to curate our offerings to meet and exceed our customers' expectations."
The 45-minute flight departs from Doha International Airport's Premium Terminal, flying over Al Thumama Stadium, Aspire Zone, and Education City before heading towards Lusail Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, and Thakira Mangrove Forest. The journey continues with flybys over The Pearl Island, Al Safliya Island, Katara Cultural Village, and West Bay, concluding with views of the Corniche, National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art, and Stadium 974.
The first tour is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2024. Bookings are now available at discoverqatar.qa/air, priced at QAR 710 for adults and children over two years of age, with no charge for children under two.
The experience is also available for passengers with a transit time of 6 or more hours at Hamad International Airport, starting at QAR 850. This package includes private return transfers between Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport Premium Terminal.
