DECC park all set to be opened

The new park at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) is all set to be opened with the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar having completed all major works.

Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the park will be opened along with the completion of the Doha Corniche Development project.

The park with green spaces spread across 10,000sqm will be the first of its kind with padel spaces to serve fans and players, in keeping with the rising popularity of the game. The underground parking is equipped with elevators. The features include a central green plaza, an event space, children's play area, exercise area, shaded seats, cafeteria, restrooms, bicycle paths, bicycle parking lots, indoor pedestrian walkways and paths for walking and jogging.

The walkways and cycle paths have locally-made recycled rubber floors.

Surrounded by the Corniche, Al-Ad Al Sharqi and Exhibition Centre streets along with Street 811, the park is located among a large number of hotels, administrative and government buildings and private companies. The committee was keen to make it a new tourist and entertainment destination for all citizens, residents and tourists while providing various facilities that attract families.
