More than 12 tonnes of dates were sold on the fourth day of the third local dates festival at Souq Waqif, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said yesterday. Of the total 12,687kg sold, Khalas dates accounted for 7,264kg, Shishi 1,519kg, Khanizi 1,708kg and Barhi 1,686kg. Besides, 510kg of other types of dates were also sold. Meanwhile, around 3,000 people visited the festival on the fourth day, the MME added. The festival is open to the public until August 4, from 4pm until 10pm daily.
