Commercial Bank and Qatar Cancer Society raise breast cancer awareness

With the community’s wellbeing at the heart of its mission, Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has partnered with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) as a Gold Sponsor for their ‘Walk to Support’ campaign.
The Bank has conducted a variety of joint exciting awareness-raising activities and workshops in October to support the society within its mission to raise awareness on breast cancer.
Emphasising on the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Commercial Bank has launched the remarkable ‘One Image’ campaign exclusively for its employees. The bank’s employees got the opportunity to attend the informative “Breast Cancer Awareness Sessions” and enjoy exciting activities held on the side. They attended an awareness lecture, and a preparation of a healthy meal in the pink kitchen. Afterwards, certificates of attendance were presented to participants.   As part of the “One Image” campaign, Commercial Bank’s female employees attended a workshop entitled “Our Passion in our Health,” which was delivered by specialists in the Health Education Department at the Qatar Cancer Society. The successful workshop was all about fun and useful activities.
To conclude its awareness campaign, Commercial Bank employees also took part in the recent “Walk to Support” initiative to help raise awareness, express encouragement and compassion for those living with breast cancer.
Not only did employees take part of a memorable walk, but they also had the opportunity to obtain a breast cancer early detection free consultation, along with a chance to participate in the exciting competitions while kids enjoyed face painting and colorful balloons.
Abeer Marwan AlKalla, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Commercial Bank, commented: “We are committed to lend our support to spread awareness about the disease and send out important health messages. The activities we did were all in coordination with Qatar Cancer Society. The awareness session in our head-office aimed at encouraging female staff members to do early check-ups along with a symbolic activity that aims to promote how quick the process is, we encouraged staff to take a photo and post it on our vibrant ‘One Image’ campaign backdrop.”
