Civil Defence launches new firefighting vehicles

The General Directorate of Civil Defence launched 13 modern fire engines on Thursday.

The vehicles were unveiled at a function at Civil Defence headquarters at Wadi Al Sail, in the presence of Director-General Brigadier Hamad Osman al-Duhaimi and directors of various departments.

Al-Duhaimi, while attending the function, said that the new vehicles are from the first batch and that more such fire engines will be launched in due course to keep pace with the latest developments in Civil Defence and firefighting.

“These vehicles will be ready to serve the requirements of the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” he explained.

The designated officers at Civil Defence have been trained to handle the latest type of vehicles.

Captain Abdullah Saqr al-Jassem, transport officer at Civil Defence, said the new vehicles have been introduced in line with the urban development and expansion taking place in the country and to cover all areas.
