Cityscape 2021 testament to Qatari real estate market’s recovery

In a COVID-19 controlled environment, Qatar’s real estate market is witnessing stable growth and attracts both local and international investors, Cityscape Group Sales Director, Alexander Edwards has said.

He also said that Cityscape Qatar exhibition and conference is testament to the recovery phase the Qatari real estate market is currently witnessing.

According to Edwards the growth in the real estate market will further increase due to several reasons including the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.

“Growth lies in front of Qatar. I think that is a very exciting time, we are seeing enough growth and going to see that grow even more as it gears up to certain opportunities the country is undertaking. For example the FIFA World Cup 2022, that has got billions of eyes on Qatar and brings more opportunities,” Edwards told The Peninsula.

Data suggest that Qatar is experiencing increased real estate transactions and during the last six months, the value of real estate deals exceeded QR15bn.  According to Edwards, the growth will continue to go up and he said, “I really believe so not just from local investors but form international investors.”

He said that government incentives also boost the real estate market. “Key decisions taken by Qatar play an important role. Free Zones Authority can be seen attracting significant investments from around the globe in setting up businesses in Qatar,” said Edwards.  He also said that the real estate market in Qatar is diversified to residential, hospitality, commercial, retail, warehousing and industrial sector. “The pandemic gave companies to really look at themselves and see what and how they are going to invest,” he said.

Edwards also said that Cityscape Qatar has partnered with the Qatar Tourism and it will help to bring more visitors and companies and give them with a right platform.

“We have very strong relations with Qatar Tourism and we look forward to move on and bring more    international companies and international visitors,” he said.

Speaking about the 9th Cityscape Qatar exhibition and conference just concluded at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), Edwards said it was a great come back to live events as it attracted key exhibitors and visitors.

“We are extremely excited to see live events back in Qatar. Visitors coming through the doors reinforced bringing some normality back,” said Edwards.

“The attendance so far goes to show how important face-to-face meetings are, as well as the need for developers come onsite and showcase their latest projects to potential investors and buyers. The amount of new product launches and new signings at the event this year is testament to the recovery phase the Qatari real estate market is currently witnessing,” he said.

A digital platform has also been made for this year’s Cityscape Global event.

“Exhibitors from Qatar also have access to this new hybrid model and will be able to take advantage of its month-long digital networking capabilities and attend industry-led seminars,” said Edwards.
