CCQ events aim to promote fitness

Inspiring its community of students, employees and their families to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle, the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) celebrated Qatar National Sport Day (NSD) with a full range of ‘fun and fit’ activities that focus on the body, mind and spirit.

The whole-day programme, which was hosted at Park 65, is designed to promote fitness and highlight the importance of exercise for adults and kids alike.

The programme featured a variety of sports activities including jogging, running, golf, and shooting darts, in addition to a selection of team-building activities such as tug-of-war, a football tournament and a volleyball championship that witnessed the participation of a group of employees and students. A professional coach led participants on an invigorating fitness class suitable for all ages and activity levels.

CCQ president Dr Mohamed al-Naemi contemplated what NSD means to the College and the wider community, elaborating: “While the College’s primary mission is to empower our community members to achieve academic advancement, the importance of health and fitness in this endeavour cannot be overlooked.”
