Doha: The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy has offered cabin-style accommodations under fan villages during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
“Fan villages are one of the multiple options of the accommodation such as apartments & villas, hotels, cruise ship hotels for fans,” said Executive Director of Housing Department at Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) Omar Al Jaber.
Speaking to Qatar TV yesterday, he said that cabin-style accommodations will be available in three areas under fan villages at Qatar Free Zone, near Mall of Qatar and Lusail Multipurpose Hall.
“The locations of cabin-style accommodations were selected in a way to be close to metro stations enabling fans to use public transpiration during the mega sporting event,” said Al Jaber.
He said that there will be over 8,000 cabin-style accommodations offering hotel services.
“We will officially launch cabin-style accommodations this week which are being provided through contractors. The cabin-style accommodations have been divided into categories by the contractors,” said Al Jaber.
He said that cabin-style accommodations are being prepared and placed at certain places.
“They offer a number of services like hotel rooms for comfort of fans. The facilities will also host events, restaurants and other activities,” said Al Jaber.
Speaking about booking process of cabin-style accommodations, he said that fans can book them through www.qatar2022.qa like any other accommodations.
To a question about the types of accommodation offered under fan villages, he said: “Al Khor camping accommodations are one of them. They offer high level camping accommodations with many services.” He said more projects will be launched to add new types of the accommodation under fan villages.
Fan villages are ideal for fans who want to be at the heart of the tournament atmosphere, with easy connections to Doha and the stadiums.
Fan villages are located on the outskirts of Doha but are still accessible via public transport or rideshares, keeping fans in easy reach of all of popular cultural attractions, as well as FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums and activities.
Multiple accommodation options are available to the fans. They can book accommodation through www.qatar2022.qa which offers cabin accommodation, fan villages, camping accommodation, hotels, floating hotels and empty homes among others. Details of new accommodations upon completion are being uploaded on the website on a weekly basis. Fans who have secured match tickets are urged to book accommodations as soon as possible.
