The Bangladesh embassy has celebrated the Armed Forces Day, for the first time in Qatar, on Sunday, the mission said in a statement.
A reception was attended by Bangladesh ambassador Mohamed Jashim Uddin, Qatar Ministry of Interior official Brig Gen Ali al-Athbi, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and Coast Guard, defence attaches from other embassies and other dignitaries.
A video documentary on the achievements and vision of Bangladesh Armed Forces was screened. The embassy's defence adviser Brig Gen Mohamed Sajjad Hossain welcomed the gathering.
The envoy paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the martyred members of the Armed Forces.
