Doha: Some banks in Qatar are reminding citizens and residents about the deadline on the validity of old Qatari banknotes.
In several social media posts and SMS messages, the banks have stated that the deadline to exchange and accept the old edition of banknotes will be Friday, December 31, 2021.
Ahlibank Qatar posted announcement on Twitter and said: "In accordance with the directives of Qatar Central Bank, Ahlibank will continue accepting the old edition of the banknotes in all of its branches and ATMs until the 31st of December, 2021."
Doha Bank sent an SMS reminder to its customers and shared the announcement on Twitter.
"Kindly note that old Qatari Banknotes will be accepted until 31st December 2021 at any Doha Bank branch or cash deposit ATM," Doha Bank said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, QIB sent SMS messages to its customers reminding that the "31st of December 2021 is the last day to accept the old currency notes."
