Stepping into the second year, Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM) is introducing new specialities and services, including paediatric care.
Paediatric Services at AMNM will be launched soon for children between up to the age of years, said Dr. Jessica Adam, Chief Medical Officer at AMNM.
“Our services will be in general paediatric care, including Well Child Care — a chance to get regular updates about the child’s health and development and care for children with minor injuries, common illnesses, and some other diseases that may affect young people,” Dr. Adam said.
She also said that AMNM is having a Primary Health Care (PHC) model which addresses the majority of persons health needs throughout their lifetime. This includes physical, mental and social well-being and it is people-centred rather than disease-centred.
“The PHC is a whole-of-society approach that includes health promotion, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation,” she said.
AMNM’s Executive Health, a preventive health programme that provides comprehensive medical assessments and personalised health strategies in a private and comfortable setting has also introduced several new specialities.
“A pre-visit phone screening is done with the patient with internist to customise executive physical — complete psychical, mental and lifestyle screening. We have included cardiology and endocrinology services to Executive Health Programme,” said Dr. Adam.
Speaking about the other services, Dr. Adam said that AMNM also provides flu vaccinations, resource and information to help prevent the disease and for thyroid care internists evaluate and treat endocrine system disorders, including thyroid conditions, hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) and pap tests are provided for women to detect and prevent cervical cancer.
