Amir wishes Japan Premier speedy recovery, lauds his support for bilateral ties

Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has wished Prime Minister of Japan, H E Shinzo Abe for a speedy recovery appreciating the support of premier to enhance relations between the two countries.   

“Our best wishes for a speedy recovery to our friend Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan. You have been a great supporter of the strong relations between Qatar and Japan and working with you was a source of pleasure,” H H the Amir tweeted yesterday.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe resigned yesterday, citing health reasons, Qatar News Agency reported.

“Even though there is one year to go in my tenure and there are challenges to be met, I have decided to stand down as prime minister,” said Abe at a press conference in Tokyo, adding that he would like to apologize to the people of Japan for being unable to fulfill his duties during the coronavirus pandemic.
