Amir issues laws and instruments of ratification

Doha: Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued yesterday several laws and instruments of ratification. 

HH the Amir issued Law No. 1 of 2020 on the unified economic register and Law No. 2 of 2020 amending some provisions of the Penal Code issued by Law No. 11 of 2004. H H the Amir also issued Law No. 3 of 2020 amending some provisions of Law No. 9 of 1987 on combating drugs and dangerous psychotropic substances and regulating their trade and use.

HH the Amir issued Law No. 4 of 2020 amending some provisions of Law No. 15 of 2014 on the regulation of charitable activities, Law No. 5 of 2020 amending some provisions of Law No. 15 of 2011 on competing the human trafficking and Law No. 6 of 2020 amending some provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedures issued by Law No. 23 of 2004.

The laws are effective starting from the day following the date of their publication in the official gazette.

HH the Amir also issued an instrument of ratification approving a draft agreement on promoting cooperation in the field of infrastructure between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the People’s Republic of China signed in Beijing on January 31, 2019.

HH the Amir issued an instrument of ratification approving a memorandum of understanding on promoting cooperation in creating business events between the National Tourism Council of the State of Qatar and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade of the People’s Republic of China signed in Beijing on January 31, 2019.

HH the Amir issued an instrument of ratification approving an agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Russian Federation on mutual exemption of entry visa requirements for citizens of the State of Qatar and citizens of the Russian Federation signed in Moscow on December 27, 2019.
