Amir crowns winners of HH the Amir Sword Festival

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani crowned the winners on the final day of the three-day HH the Amir Sword Festival at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club at Al Rayyan Park Saturday. Khalifa bin Sheail al-Kuwari-owned Lady Princess clinched the coveted HH the Amir Sword title, while al-Kuwari’s Moshrif won HH the Amir Silver Sword.


The closing was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani.

The event was also attended by a number of sheikhs, ministers, horse owners and an audience of equestrian sports lovers, QNA reported.

His Highness the Amir handed the golden sword to Khalifa bin Shuail Al Kuwari, for the mare, Lady Princess, winning of the eighth race of purebred Arabian horses (first category) for a distance of 2,400 metres. The Amir handed the award to Hambleton Racing Limited 33 & Partner, after the horse Outbox won the seventh race title for purebred horses (first category) for a distance of 2,400 metres.

His Highness the Amir also handed over to Khalifa bin Shuail Al Kuwari the silver sword for the pony Mushrif winning of the sixth race title for purebred Arabian horses (4 years old only) for a distance of 1850 metres, and Al Shalfa to Mohammed Hamad Al Attiyah for the pony Thunder Stone winning of the first place in the fifth round dedicated to purebred hybrid horses Equivalence - (Class 2) for the 2000 metres.

His Highness the Amir handed over prizes to winners of the first places in the hurdle jumping grand prize, who are: Hamad Nasser Al Qadi, the first place winner, Nasser Jassim Al Ghazali, the second place winner, and Muhammad Khalifa Al-Baker, the third place winner.

His Highness the Amir crowned the winners of the first places in the endurance race on his sword: the jockey Maren Faucon, who won the first place, Khaled Sanad Al Nuaimi, who won the second place, and Bilal Bassam Al Kharraz in the third place.

His Highness the Amir handed over the prizes to the winners of the first four places in the "Al-Sabiq" heritage race, who are: Mohamed Kam'an Al Khayarin, Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Hajri, Muhammad Fahd Al Khayarin, and Saleh Salem Al Marri. HH the Amir also honored the sponsors of the festival.

His Highness the Amir witnessed part of the closing rounds of the purebred horse competition, and the final round of the "Al-Sabiq" heritage championship on the sandy track, in addition to the main run on the golden sword of His Highness for purebred Arabian horses.
