His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani sent on Thursday condolences to the family of Sheikh Isa bin Rashid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa, praying to the Almighty Allah to have mercy on his soul and to rest it in paradise, and to grant patience and solace to his family and the family of al-Khalifa.
Renowned sports and literary figure Sheikh Isa passed away at the age of 82. Shaikh Isa was most known for his role as the president of the Bahrain Football Association, a role which he held from 1974 to 1988 which is the longest anyone has held the position and was later named an honourary president .
