Ambassadors of Kuwait and Turkey praise Amir's speech

Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Qatar H E Hafiz Mohammed Al Ajmi has praised the speech delivered by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday during the opening of the first ordinary session of the first legislative term corresponding to the Shura Council’s 50th annual session, in which he addressed many internal and external issues.

The Ambassador said that H H the Amir emphasised the consolidation of the foundations of the state of institutions, the rule of law and human rights.

“On the Internal issue, H H the Amir affirmed the progress towards achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, referring to legislative amendments to facilitate commercial transactions, and H H ‘s keenness to issue instructions to the Cabinet to make constitutional legislative amendments related to citizenship.”

“Qatar has played positive role in the Afghan crisis to choose a policy of mediation instead of war, which made the State of Qatar accept the request to mediate between the US and the Taliban movement,” Al Ajmi said.

“On the Gulf issue, H H the Amir emphasised that brotherhood, history and geography make it imperative for Qatar to preserve the Gulf Cooperation Council.” 

The Ambassador said that about hosting the 2022 World Cup, H H the Amir revealed that the tournament is a major occasion, which will show the country and the openness of the people and will show the bright face of the peoples of the Gulf.

“I can say that this important speech of H H the Amir came to define many of the foundations of serious work to ensure the economic growth and diversification of Qatar. It also expressed a number of the constants of Qatar’s foreign policy, and I wish the members of the Shura Council a fruitful legislative chapter and to help the government in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030,” the Ambassador of Kuwait added.

Ambassador of Turkey to Qatar H E Dr. Mustafa Goksu said that his country aspires to achieve maximum parliamentary cooperation between the Turkish National Assembly and the Qatari Shura Council, in continuation to coordinate permanent positions on issues of common interest in parliamentary and legislative issues.

Commenting on speech of H H the Amir at Shura Council, the Ambassador said: 

“I congratulate the Qatari people on the start of the work of the elected Shura Council and the opening of the first ordinary session of the first legislative term. I also congratulate the brotherly Qatari people for the election of Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim as Speaker of the Shura Council, and Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti as Deputy Speaker.”

The Ambassador stressed that the Turkey looks forward to more high-level coordination at the level world to coordinate permanent positions on issues of common interest in parliamentary and legislative issues.
