Ali Al Naama art exhibition opens at Katara

Doha: An art exhibition by the artist, Ali Al Naama under a theme ‘They flew … So they wouldn’t be tethered to the ground’ opened yesterday at building No. 5 of Cultural Village Foundation (Katara).

General Manager of Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library (QNL) H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari.

Regarding his exhibition, the artist Ali Al Namah said: “First, I would like to thank Katara and Katara Art Center for all the support and cooperation, especially after the interruption of exhibitions due to COVID-19 pandemic, and I also thank all visitors.”

About the reason for choosing this title, he said: “My focus on the bird’s wing as an artistic term comes from the environment in which I grew up. 

“A variety of materials were used and presented in a smooth and innovative way.”

“I consider this exhibition the beginning of similar future ideas that I will present in the same style,” said Al Namma inviting public to visit the exhibition and get acquainted with it. The exhibition included 14 paintings of different sizes and materials, sculpted from acrylic and aluminium. It is first personal exhibition of Al Namaa at Katara, and before that he participated in a number of exhibitions with a group of artists.
