Al Wakra player gets heart attack during QSL match

The QNB Stars League Round 13 match between Al Wakrah and Al Rayyan was suspended after Malian defender Ousmane Coulibaly collapsed on the pitch after suffering from a heart attack.

At the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, the 32-year-old Al Wakrah player was immediately given medical attention and was rushed to the hospital.

The Qatar Stars League said in a press release that they wish a speedy recovery to Coulibaly, and also thanked the medical staff of the two teams, the paramedics and the doctors for their great efforts during the incident.
When the match was halted in the 41st minute, Al Rayyan were leading 1-0. The match officials and the teams agreed to resume the match at a later time

Qatar Football Association president Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani was at the stadium to watch the game and he was on the pitch in minutes to speak with the managements of both sides, and the match officials.
Al Wakrah media officer Mohamed Al Sulaiti later told Al Kaas: “We don’t care about the three points, we don’t care about the match. We are only concerned now about Ousmane’s well-being and the other players.”
