Al Wakra Municipality carries out 873 field inspection

Al Wakra Municipality's health control section carried out 873 field inspection tours at various food establishments within the municipality in October, resulting in the issuance of 32 violations under Law No. 8 of 1990 on the regulation of human food control. Twenty-seven of these were resolved through reconciliation and one report was referred to the security authorities concerned.

Meanwhile, the section supervised the slaughter of 10,839 heads of livestock and ordered the destruction of 397 carcasses in addition to 5,327kg of meat. The section also examined 43 tonnes of fish at the Al Wakra fish market and ordered the destruction of 100kg of these for not being fit for human consumption.

Further, the director of the municipality issued administrative decisions to shut down two food shops for violating the food control law. Also, the section received 12 related complaints and addressed them immediately, while 16 food samples were sent to the central laboratory to check the validity of the food on display at the local market.
