Al Hammadi leads Qatar's delegation at GCC education ministers meeting

Doha: Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulwahed Al Hammadi headed Qatar’s delegation participating in the 5th meeting of Their Excellencies Ministers of Education of GCC countries.

During the meeting, which was held via video conference, two topics were discussed, namely, the follow-up to the decisions of the Supreme Council for 41st session, the Sultan Qaboos and Sheikh Sabah summit.

It included a number of topics such as strengthening of strategic partnerships between GCC and other countries and groups, and the issue of developing technical capabilities in government agencies.

The second topic was the follow-up to the decisions of the fourth meeting, which included the committee’s work plan, cooperation in achieving the fourth goal of the United Nations development goals and information security for students, addressing the coronavirus pandemic, and cooperation in the field of education.

Minister of Education and Higher Education also headed the country’s delegation participating in the 21st meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies and Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in GCC states. The meeting dealt with four topics, including the follow-up to the decisions of the Al-Ula summit of 41st session of the Supreme Council of GCC states — Sultan Qaboos and Sheikh Sabah Summit — and the follow-up to the decisions of the 20th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance of Higher Education.
