Al Bidda Park's Dadu Gardens Now Permanently Open to the Public

Doha, Qatar: Dadu Gardens, part of the Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, has officially reopened its doors at Al Bidda Park, situated in the heart of the International Zone at Expo 2023 Doha. Solidifying its position as a hub for education and enjoyment for children under 12, along with their families and caregivers, Dadu Gardens will continue to serve as a beacon of learning and play beyond the duration of Expo 2023 Doha.

Themed as "Gardens’ Adventures," Dadu Gardens, operational for one year, is set to provide a variety of activities and programs crafted to engage and educate children. These initiatives aim to foster children's development through interactive play and a connection with nature. Spanning an impressive 14,500 sqm, Dadu Gardens functions as an outdoor gallery and a living classroom, embodying the mission of the Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar.

Essa Al Mannai, Director of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, expressed delight at the reopening of Dadu Gardens, now permanently located in Al Bidda Park. He emphasized that the Gardens' Adventures align with the values of Expo 2023 Doha, focusing on sustainability, the green economy, healthy habits, and environmental awareness. Al Mannai invited the public to explore the programs, emphasizing the importance of hands-on experiences for children's learning.

Under the development of Qatar Museums, Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar is being constructed through unprecedented collaboration between Qatar’s public and private sectors. Donors contributing QR3.65 million or more become members of the Dadu Founding Family, including notable entities like Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Awqaf, Baladna, ConocoPhillips, DAAM, ENI, ExxonMobil, Intesa Sanpaolo, Baladya, Ooredoo, Shell, SLB, Total Energies, Supernova, and Uniqlo. Additionally, Rumailah Group generously donated two six-seater golf carts for Dadu Gardens Adventures.

Dadu Gardens, tailored for children under 12, offers a diverse range of activities encompassing physical play, creative exploration, narrative adventures, and more. With a focus on authentic play and engagement with nature, the Gardens feature nine distinct facilities, including Edible Garden, Garden Atelier, Community Garden, Permaculture Showcase, Kashta, Events Plateau, The Promise Plaza, and Al Marj.

During Expo 2023 Doha, the Gardens’ Adventures will feature activities such as creating art with natural materials, exploring the edible garden, learning about the world of worms, participating in gardening programs, and gaining insights into recycling.
