Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s Health Control Section carried out 552 inspection tours on the food organisations and outlets, and the food production projects within its jurisdiction, issuing 14 violation reports according to law no 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human control.
A total of 16 food samples were sent to the central laboratories for the necessary examination to ensure their suitability for human consumption.
The veterinarian team at the section also supervised the slaughtering of 3,140 heads of livestock inside the slaughterhouses, where 382 carcasses were partial destroyed for being unfit for human consumption. Besides, 983 tonnes of fish were examined at the Fish market and Al Khor fishing harbour, and 1,605kg destroyed. The section received four related complaints and dealt with them accordingly.
