Abandoned vehicles removed

The general control department of Al Daayen Municipality, in co-ordination with the mechanical equipment department, recently conducted a campaign to remove abandoned vehicles and equipment from areas within the municipality’s jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the Al Gharafa office of Al Rayyan Municipality implemented 42 inspection tours last month and conducted four review visits to renew the licences of shops.

It also conducted two reviews for issuing new shop licences, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said in a statement.

The office issued five violation reports, which were resolved through reconciliation with the offenders. Fines collectively worth QR37,500 were collected from the violators.

Also, five temporarily licences were issued to some outlets, the MME said, adding that the number of approved shops in June amounted to 142.

In addition, the municipality executed 882 requests and applications for fighting rodents and insects in different areas within its jurisdiction in June.

In another development, the MME’s Protection and Wildlife Department recently conducted a comprehensive cleanup campaign at Fuwairit beach in co-operation with Al Shamal Municipality.
