600 Covid-19 cases, 1 death and 1005 recoveries in Qatar on July 7

​Ministry of Public Health today recorded 600 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 1005 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 94903. The Ministry also announced one death due to Covid-19. 

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 100945 and there are 5908 active cases under treatment. So far, 134 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 4886 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 390997 tests. There are 67 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

In addition, the Ministry announces one new death, aged 61, who was receiving the necessary medical care.​

Seven patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 154.

“There has been an increase in cases among families. This is of great concern as this population group includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions.  Now more than ever, we must be careful and protect the most vulnerable,” MoPH said in a statement.

The Ministry of Public Health urged anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery. 

The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center
