387 face prosecution for violating Covid measures

The designated authorities referred 387 people to the prosecution for violating the preventive and precautionary measures enforced by the country to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Tuesday. Among them, 347 people were referred to the prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, 26 for not maintaining safe physical distancing, and 10 for violating the decision to ban gatherings in closed places.

Also, two persons were referred to the prosecution for violating the law on the number of people allowed in a vehicle, and one person each for not installing the Ehteraz app and for violating quarantine requirements. The measure is in line with the Cabinet decision, Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19. The designated authorities have called on the public to adhere to the precautionary measures in place to ensure their safety and that of others.
