3000-bed quarantine facility ready in 72 hours in Qatar; another 8500-bed to be ready soon

At the request of the Ministry of Public Health, the Public Works Authority Ashghal has set up a 3000-bed medical quarantine hospital within 72 hours and work is underway to have another 8500-bed centre soon. 

Ashghal said this on its twitter account adding that this complex in Umm Slal on completion will be able to accommodate 12500 bed. BPD Eng. Fatima Al Meer said that  upon completion, the Medical Quarantine Complex in Umm Slal will be able to accommodate 12,500 beds. 

Another BPD Engineer Thafir Al Ahbabi said that the Field Quarantine Hospital has a recreational facility to accommodate 600 people with diverse sports activities along with iPads. It will also have a dining room to serve 900 people, taking into consideration the safely social distancing of the seating. 

The official also thanked the private sector including the local contractors and suppliers for their effective cooperation and contribution, offering their services and potentials to accomplish this great project in a record time.
