110 abandoned vehicles to be removed in Al Sheehaniya

Doha: The Joint Committee for Removing Abandoned Vehicles at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) yesterday launched a campaign to remove abandoned vehicles in Al Sheehaniya Municipality.

Head of General Monitoring Section at Al Sheehaniya Municipality Abdullah Sultan Al Naimi said that it is expected to remove about 110 abandoned vehicles from across Al Sheehaniya Municipality under the campaign.The week-long campaign will gradually move to all areas across the Municipality until the removal of all abandoned vehicles,” said Head of the General Monitoring Section at Doha Municipality, Hamad Sultan Al Shahwani.

He said that inspectors marked all abandoned vehicles across the Municipality and the campaign has been launched to remove those vehicles in coordination with the Joint Committee. Al Shahwani said the campaign was launched following the Law No. 18 of 2017 of Public Hygiene to preserve public health and ensure environmental protection. “Following the action plan of the joint committee for 2021, the campaign began from Al Shamal then it moved to Al Khor and Al Zakhira Municipality, Al Daayen Municipality and Umm Salal Municipality. Now it reached to Al Sheehaniya,” said Al Shahwani.
