'Further drop in cases will pave way for next phase of lifting restrictions'

The number of Covid-19 cases is decreasing in Qatar due to the community’s commitment to preventive measures and the high rate of vaccination, and it will decrease more in the future, paving way for the next phase of lifting restrictions, said Dr Yousef al-Maslamani, medical director of Hamad General Hospital.

"The government, the entities concerned and the public play active roles in containing the spread of Covid-19 and high public awareness and co-operation in this regard would certainly lead to fewer infections on daily basis, which would eventually expedite the process of lifting more restrictions," he told Qatar TV on Monday.
