Qatarق€™s economic successes are impressive

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar Arman Isagaliyev said that the economic and development successes achieved by Qatar and its advanced global ranks in economic indicators is admirable, stressing that the vision of the wise leadership of the country is the secret of all these successes. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the ambassador said that Qatar is a country with one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and due to wise leadership, Qatar continues to successfully tackle modern challenges and threats.

He noted “the social and economic position of the state is developing steadily. First of all, this is, of course, connected with the government’s efforts to preserve the economic well-being of society and liberalise domestic political life.”

Qatar is ranked 29th among 141 countries, according to the Global Competitiveness Report, published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF), and has real prospects of becoming one of the 10 most competitive countries in the world in the next 10 years, he said, adding that Qatar deservedly ranks first among the Arab countries in terms of the world ranking of economic freedom.

“All this makes me admire. Therefore, I sincerely wish the leadership of Qatar and all its people to achieve their goals and reach further heights in all areas of life,” ambassador Arman Isagaliyev said. He hailed the success achieved by the state in facing the Covid-19 pandemic, saying, “I would like to emphasise the effective fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Qatar, as evidenced by the high rate of recovery of the infected and the low death rate.”

Thanks to the well-co-ordinated work of the government and the country’s healthcare system, as well as the personal responsibility of citizens and residents living in Qatar, the situation with coronavirus is under control, he said. Moreover, Qatar has not only achieved great results in ensuring public health in pandemic conditions on its territory, but also provided significant humanitarian assistance to a number of countries, including Kazakhstan, he added.

In this regard, the ambassador said that in May 21, as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, on the instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Qatar Fund for Development sent humanitarian aid to Kazakhstan, noting that President of Kazakhstan considered this move as a sign of genuine friendship.

On the relations between the two countries, he said that historically the peoples of Kazakhstan and Qatar are parts of the Muslim Umma, and they interacted through important historical stages within the framework of the interaction between Central Asia and the Gulf region, so that the Qatari-Kazakh relations are currently witnessing a qualitative leap thanks to the efforts of the two wise leaderships.

“I remain completely positive about the dynamics of relations between our countries at all levels and spheres, including trade, cultural, humanitarian, investment co-operation and tourism,” he added.

“At the moment, due to the lack of direct flights and affordable logistics, the volume of trade between Kazakhstan and Qatar is not big. However, despite this, there has been a stable growth in trade between our countries,” he pointed out.

The envoy noted that the developing infrastructure and the upcoming World Cup 2022 promise a large flow of tourists from Kazakhstan, adding “our country also has many tourist sites that will be of interest to Qataris.” The ambassador congratulated His Highness the Amir, and the government and people of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day, wishing them further progress and prosperity.
