Analyst – Investor Relations and Sharia Compliance ( For Qatari Applicants Only ) - VOD0005ZS
We need a Qatari candidate who has strong Islamic finance experience (working in an Islamic bank in a role that involved contracts/audit), strong command of Arabic, and the ability to manage a good relationship with our Sharia advisor.
Role purpose:
• Assisting with the execution of Investor Relations strategy, supporting the Head of Investor Relations
• Acting as interface between external stakeholders and Vodafone
• Developing framework and promoting ongoing compliance of the company’s adherence to sharia standards
• Managing quarterly audit to receive Sharia certification from advisor
Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
• Analyse key information flows
o Work closely with members of Finance team to understand business performance and financial and operating metrics/results with the goal of communicating results to the external third parties as required
o Analyse and interpret key industry trends
o Track competitor performance including official quarterly benchmark review and share price analysis, providing high level feedback to senior management
• Preparation for external events
o Preparation of material for compliance with Qatar Exchange (QE) regulations including:
- ensuring correct format of quarterly statutory accounts presented on time to QE in English and Arabic
- organising publication of relevant financial information and commentary for publication in both Arabic and English newspapers
- preparation of quarterly presentation of results for website publication
- Support preparation and execution of key investor and analyst activities
- develop and contribute to key messages for external audiences
- liaise directly internally at all levels to ensure understanding of Vodafone’s objectives and business performance
• Promote ongoing Sharia Compliance
o Develop framework and processes for Company compliance to Sharia standards
o Perform regular internal audits in line with framework
o Provide proactive support to all areas of the business with regards to Sharia queries
o Proactively promote sharia compliance within company and assist in building related external messaging
• Manage quarterly Sharia audit process
o Liaise with sharia advisor to manage quarterly external audit of the company
o Address audit points in timely fashion
o Secure quarterly certification from Sharia advisor and arrange for press announcement
