Training workshop for pioneers of youth work

HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, chairman of the subcommittee on drug prevention, is heading a training workshop for the pioneers of youth work set to be held on October 13-14 at Al Hekma House Hall at the ministry headquarters.

During the workshop, the ways of prevention against illicit drugs will be discussed in addition to equipping young people with the necessary strategic skills and training them to use adequate content to address youngsters on related issues. Besides, there will be a number of related lectures by specialists addressing various aspects.


Training course on organic farming

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment Agriculture Affairs Department in co-ordination with the training department organised a specialised training course on the organic farming in Qatar during October 4-8 at the headquarters of the agriculture affairs and fisheries sector. The workshop was aimed at training the farmers and specialists in the field.


Inspection tours of food outlets

Al Rayyan Municipality carried out 3,475 inspection tours on various food outlets and facilities during September. A total of 34 violation reports were issued. While 29 were resolved in reconciliation, five referred to the security entities concerned, two outlets shut down.

The health inspectors supervised the slaughtering of 4,061 heads of livestock at the slaughterhouse, where 43 whole carcasses were destroyed and 371kg of meat destroyed for being unfit for human consumption. In addition, 19,769kg of vegetables and fruits were destroyed at Al Sayliyah Central Market. During the same period, 41 food samples were sent to the central laboratories for related tests.


Municipality spots illegal store

Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s technical control and health control sections have carried a joint inspection campaign that resulted in spotting an illegal store, for varied foodstuff, being operated from inside a house used as labourers’ accommodation. The food products were kept in unhygienic conditions.

A violation report was issued in accordance with Law No 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control, and the seized foodstuff destroyed. Another violation report was issued regarding Law No 15 for 2010 amended by Law No 22 for 2019 on the Prohibition of Workers Camps within Family Residential Areas.


Public hygiene violators booked

Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s General Control Section carried out 180 inspection tours with regard to public hygiene in September and issued 158 violation reports according to Law No 18 for 2017. While, 21 were resolved in reconciliation, one report was referred to the security entity concerned. A total of 80 abandoned vehicles were also removed.
