The health control section in the Municipal Control Department of Doha Municipality destroyed rotten onions that were found at an unlicensed storehouse in the Industrial Area. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Municipality, a total of 1,400kg of onions were found expired and unfit for human consumption. Officials conducting the check found a change in the natural properties of onions and the growth of molds. Also, the facility did not comply with the basic health requirements for food storage. A violation report was issued in accordance with Law No. 8 of 1990 regulating human food control, and the immediate destruction of the entire seized quantity was ordered. Also, an administrative decision was issued to close the storehouse for 30 days.
