Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has issued a weather update indicating that the Arabian Gulf region will experience a significant heatwave over the weekend.
This heatwave is attributed to the intensification of India’s seasonal low, with its impact on Qatar expected to peak on Friday. As winds shift to a northwesterly-southwesterly direction, temperatures are anticipated to soar, reaching the high 40s in degrees Celsius.
QMD advises residents to exercise caution, especially during daylight hours, and to avoid outdoor activities to mitigate the risks associated with the extreme heat.
