Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating that the upcoming weekend will be characterized by windy conditions.
The maximum temperatures expected for the weekend are 40°C on Thursday and 38°C on both Friday and Saturday. Minimum temperatures will range from 30°C on Thursday to 31°C on Friday and 30°C on Saturday.
In its forecast for October 5th to October 7th, the QMD has cautioned about the likelihood of 'strong winds and high seas,' with reduced visibility and blowing dust expected on Friday.
Thursday and Saturday will witness Northwesterly winds blowing at speeds of 10-20 knots, occasionally reaching 30 knots inland.
On Friday, the Northwesterly winds will intensify, ranging from 15-25 knots, and peaking at 38 knots inland.
Sea levels are projected to reach 3-5 feet along the coast on Friday and Saturday, while offshore areas may experience waves as high as 13 feet and 12 feet, respectively.
Thursday's sea levels are expected to range from 1-5 feet near the coast, rising to 10 feet offshore.
