MOPH launches electronic colouring book for children

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has launched an electronic colouring book - "Heroes of the White Army"- with drawings and awareness messages for children using heroic characters of medical professionals like doctors, nurses and paramedics fighting against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The book has tips for children to deal with COVID-19 explained in simple words – in both Arabic and English - from medical heroes during Qatar's efforts to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic.

Parents can download the colouring book in pDf format from the link https://whitearmyheroes.moph.gov.qa/ by submitting the names of their children.

The Ministry urged parents to encourage their children to draw their favorite heroic character and share them on social media by tagging #whitearmy_qatar. 

Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry of Public Health Alyaa Hassan Al Kuwari said: "The launch of the E-booklet is part of the MoPH's efforts in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation to promote awareness and health education about Covid-19 pandemic among children in Qatari society, as precautionary measures and preventive measures associated with the virus continue, and represents a symbolic recognition of the efforts of medical staff in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Al Kuwari explained that the main goal is to establish a generation that understands the importance of the medical profession and instill enthusiasm in children and motivate them to join the medical profession by highlighting our true heroes in the health sector facilities.

Al Kuwari added that the design of the characters in the booklet and the advices used inside it targeted children at the age of 4 to 10 years and an electronic link was created on the website of the Ministry of Public Health and posted on various social media in addition to the hashtag #whitearmy_Qatar.

Executive Director of Media and Public Relations at Hamad Medical Corporation Hassan Al Hill said: "The launch of the new booklet coincides with the implementation of the second phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions on the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of contributing to raising awareness among children in Qatar about the coronavirus and how to protect themselves from infection and to identify the inspiring roles played by medical staff to fight the virus.

"Through the booklet, the health sector seeks to introduce children and educate them about many reliable health information of the COVID-19 Virus," Executive Director of Corporate Communications at the Primary Health Care Corporation, Huda Al Wahedi said.
