Doha: The Permanent Committee for the Management of Seaports recently carried out an exercise (Salama1) to contain a mock fire at the cargo warehouse and the central inspection area in Hamad Port, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) tweeted.
According to MoI, the implementation of the exercise comes within the framework of the Committee’s plan to ensure preparedness and enhance security procedures at the port. It also aims to raise capabilities to achieve the best levels of safety through cooperation with the relevant authorities.
“The exercise contributes to enhancing safety measures in port facilities through synergizing efforts with the safety requirements and standards available in the port to prevent accidents and ensure safety,” the tweet added.
