Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced yesterday that a person who threw money on the street was arrested after a video showing his throwing 500 riyal notes circulated on social media.
“Regarding what has been circulated on social media about a person who is seen throwing 500 Qatari currency notes on the street, the person has been held and being referred to the competent prosecution to take legal action against him.” MoI tweeted.
It is reported that a video showed two young men sitting inside a car holding 500 riyal notes and suddenly one of them threw a bunch of notes outside the window on to the street. Later they were seen getting out of the car and picking up the notes with the help of a passer-by. Throughout the video, they were seen laughing and joking while holding a bundle of QR500 notes.
