Doha, Qatar: Effective May 22, 2024, according to Article No. 49 of the Traffic Law, buses carrying more than 25 passengers, taxis, and limousines are prohibited from using the left lane on road networks with three or more lanes in each direction.
Additionally, delivery motorcycle riders must use the right lane on all roads, with lane changes permitted at least 300 meters before intersections.
The Ministry stated, "Effective from May 22, 2024, as per Article No. 49 of the Traffic Law, buses with more than 25 passengers, taxis, limousines, and motorcycles for delivery services are prohibited from using the left lane on road networks with three or more lanes in each direction. Lane changes are allowed at least 300 meters before intersections."
Non-compliance with these regulations will result in legal action, with violators being referred to the Public Prosecution as per Article 95 of the Traffic Law.
