The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is all set to join the ninth annual National Sport Day (NSD) celebrations.
Preparations are complete to host the event at beach number four at Katara - The Cultural Village, a statement said. Sporting activities, competitions and team games will mark the celebration.
The celebrations will start at 8am and they include various activities and sport competitions for various age groups. The activities will be held in co-operation with the Qatar Volleyball Association and the Qatar Table Tennis Association.
The celebrations will include Kahramaa Beach Volleyball Championship, in addition to the matches that will be attended by Kahramaa officials and employees along with their families. There will be an exclusive area for children and women to take part in the celebrations.
A power challenge will be also organised as part of the celebrations. The competition will include truck pulling, walking with heavy weights and rolling giant tyres.
The competitions, according to the release, are organised with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of sport and ensuring that employees regularly engage in physical exercises. The activities will also urge them to exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Further, the celebration reflects the Corporation’s social responsibility and commitment to ensure the well being of the public and the employees.
Kahramaa has also asked its employees to engage in physical activities and follow healthy habits.
