Doha: The music played during the Gulf Cup opening was a piece arranged and orchestrated by renowned musician and composer Youki Yamamoto.
The Japanese born British Composer tweeted that he arranged and conducted the orchestra for the Gulf Cup opening piece. Written in Japanese, the tweet roughly translates to, "Gulf Cup that started today in Qatar. I arrange and conduct orchestras. I can't hear the sound of fireworks. Saudi Arabia, UAE and others who have broken diplomatic relations with the country participated, and it was an honor to participate in important political and historical events."
The music also played included verses from Ana Al Khaleeji - a traditional song in Gulf Countries.
The musician works with Katara Studios and is known for his work on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Never Let Me Go, One Day and The Vow.
Katara Studios also tweeted congratulating the artist on his beautiful arrangement. The tweet read as "Congratulations to @youkiyamamoto on his beautiful arrangement of this epic piece played during the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup Inauguration."
