Indian Embassy in Qatar resumes collecting data of those requiring repatriation

Doha: As the Indian Embassy in Qatar works through the final stages of repatriation of its citizens with first two flights to Kerala, it has again resumed collecting data for those expatriates, who would like to travel back to their home country due to various reasons. The form can be accessed here

The embassy in the last week of April had started with the registration process but after taking in 40,000 application it had suspended the link.

"The Govt of India has taken a decision to commence limited special flights to India. Due to the continuing demand for registration, we have resumed collection of data. The form below is to be filled for a single individual at a time," wrote the embassy on its social media account.

It also clarified that there is no need for residents who have filled the form earlier to re-register as that can lead to duplication.

The form asks for your basic details like name, passport number, age and also what kind of visa you hold - Residence Permit, Visa On Arrival / Tourist Visa, Business Visa or Family / Visit Visa.

You need to also provide the reason for travelling back to India: Be it Medical Emergency (Self), Medical Emergency (Family Member), Death of Family Member, Stranded Tourist/ Visitor, Amnesty/ Deportation, Loss of Employment, Expiry of Visa or Stranded Student.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has arranged for two flights from Qatar to Kochi (scheduled for May 9) and Trivandrum (scheduled for May 10) that is expected to carry 200 passengers each.

The passenger lists for both the flights are finalized by the Indian Embassy in Qatar on the basis of registrations made on the Embassy website for this purpose.

Priority is given to pregnant women, urgent medical cases, workers in distress, senior citizens as well as to other people who are stranded in difficult situations.
