Compulsory mask mandate in all closed and open public places

The compulsory mask mandate in all closed and open public places, with the exception of people who practice sport in open places, came into force Friday across Qatar.

The decision was announced by the Cabinet on Wednesday in order to control the spread of Covid-19. It was also decided that conferences, exhibitions and events should not exceed 75% of the venue capacity in open spaces. In closed places, the capacity should not exceed 50%, provided 90% of the participants have completed doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and those who have not must undergo a PCR or Rapid Antigen test approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). In a tweet, the MoPH had mentioned that children under six are also exempt from the mask mandate. PICTURE: Shaji Kayamkulam.
