Cabinet approves draft law to regulate voluntary work

The Cabinet which met yesterday with Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani in the chair approved a draft law on regulating voluntary work.

The draft law includes provisions related to the conditions and permit for the practice of voluntary work and the rights and duties of the volunteer and the beneficiary.

Following the meeting, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi stated that the Cabinet reviewed topics on its meeting’s agenda.

The Cabinet also approved a draft decision to amend some provisions of resolution No. 43 of 2017 establishing the Standing Committee for Farms and Farmers’ Affairs.

It also approved a draft decision of the Minister of Finance on the rules of proving the origin of imported goods.

The preparation of this draft decision replaces the ministerial decision No. 21 of 2011 on the rules of proving the origin of imported goods, which leads to the simplification of import procedures and reduce costs.

The Cabinet also approved a draft decision of the Minister of Municipality and Environment on the types and duration of advertising and insurance licenses, as well as the fees and conditions to be met in each type.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has prepared this draft decision to implement some of the provisions of Law No. 1 of 2012 on the regulation and control of placing ads.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved two draft decisions of the Minister of Municipality and Environment on the conditions and controls for the acquisition, import and export of dangerous animals and organisms, and on the necessary precautions and measures to ensure that dangerous animals and organisms do not escape or leak.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment prepared the two draft decisions to implement some of the provisions of Law No. 10 of 2019 regulating the acquisition of dangerous animals and organisms.

The Cabinet also gave approval for accession to Montreal Protocol of 2014 on offences and certain other acts committed on board aircraft, which amended Tokyo Convention of 1963.

The Cabinet then approved a draft agreement on canceling visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and private passports between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Cabinet also gave approval for hosting the Arab civil aviation summit on the next generation of professionals working in the field of civil aviation in Doha, for three days during February 2020, and the hosting of UNESCO Global Meeting on Education in Doha, 2021.
