Cabinet approves draft amendment to anti-money laundering law

Doha: The Cabinet which met yesterday with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani in the chair gave approval of a draft law amending some provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law promulgated by law No. 20 of 2019.

It also approved a draft Cabinet decision to amend some provisions of the executive regulations of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law, issued by Cabinet Resolution No. 41 of 2019. 
The Cabinet considered an approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Interior to form and nominate the head and members of the Sub-Committee for Elections for the Shura Council elections, to be based in Qatar University. 

This committee is specialised in conducting the voting process for elderly over the age of 60 years, people with special needs, and those with chronic diseases, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.  

The Cabinet also reviewed the results of the study prepared by the Standing Committee on Water Resources on the uses of treated water, and its recommendations in this regard.

It also reviewed results of the ministerial briefing meeting for the Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean Countries of the World Health Organization.
