Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani attended on Friday evening the 50th edition of HH the Amir Cup final match between Al Gharafa and Al Duhail at Khalifa International Stadium.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdulla Al Ghanim and a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs and ministers attended the match.
The final was also attended by FIFA President HE Gianni Infantino, a number of heads of Arab and international sports associations, a number of Their Excellencies members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Qatar, and football fans.
Al Duhail won the match against Al Gharafa 5-1.
Following the conclusion of the match, HH the Amir handed the trophy and gold medals to Al Duhail team, and the silver medals to Al Gharafa team.
HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani had seen part of the exhibition of pictures and collectibles held on the occasion of the golden jubilee of HH the Amir Football Cup, its 50th anniversary. Also, His Highness received the gold medal for the first edition of the championship in its first season in 1972.
