Al-Ahli Hospital building illuminated in orange to mark World Patient Safety Day

Doha: Al-Ahli Hospital marked World Patient Safety Day, under the theme ‘Safe maternal and newborn care’. 

Al-Ahli Hospital showed solidarity with healthcare facilities worldwide by illuminating its building’s facade in orange, the official color of World Patient Safety Day.

Khalid Al-Emadi, the Chief Executive Officer of Al-Ahli Hospital, said, “This year’s theme aims to promote global awareness on issues related to maternal and neonatal safety, especially during childbirth.”

In addition he said that Al-Ahli Hospital is eager to follow international standards for safety and we are doing our best to achieve the highest quality in health care for patients by enhancing education and professional development for medical, nursing and allied health professionals. Also, this creates an entrepreneurial spirit among them as they strive for best possible practice.

Jamal Hammad, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Al-Ahli Hospital, said, “We are blessed by having expert staff, state of the art equipment and advanced facilities at Al-Ahli Hospital to provide the best possible care to women and newborn infants under our care. These elements combine to ensure our excellent outcomes and high levels of guest satisfaction. For this, I thank every member of the team for their contribution.”

Dr. Abdul Azim Hussain, Chief of Medical Staff at Al-Ahli Hospital, said, “Al-Ahli Hospital is proud of the safety and quality of the services we provide. Offering women choices and options and specific support programs before, during and after pregnancy helps our obstetrics and gynecology department to be recognized for excellence within the Qatar community.” 

David Miller. Director of Safety, Quality and Accreditation Systems at Al-Ahli Hospital said that “Guest safety is our highest priority, and, as we respond, and play an important part in addressing the global pandemic, guest safety has never been more important. Safe and high-quality healthcare is at the centre of everything we do. Being part of World Patient Safety Day reminds us of the importance of our contribution to the global effort.” World Patient Safety Day is observed annually on September 17.
