3rd edition of Build Your House expo to open in March

Despite setbacks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Qatar’s construction sector bounced back in 2021, according to the organiser of Build Your House (BYH) Exhibition, which is slated to be held from March 28 to 30 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

Rawad Sleem, co-founder and general manager of NeXTfairs, said: “Due to the exceptional assistance we have received from government entities and the robust relationships we have developed with sponsors, exhibitors and our loyal Qatari visitors, we expect to reach new milestones with the third edition of BYH Exhibition.

“Each edition of the exhibition has generated an estimated value of QR400mn worth of signed deals, enabling BYH Exhibition to assert itself as an event where business takes place. Given the strong support we have received from past and new participants, we are positive that this number will be exceeded in 2022.”

Citing data from the Planning and Statistics Authority, Sleem said as many as 9,500 building permits were issued last year. In 2022, the numbers are predicted to increase as the country’s economy grows, which is set to benefit the construction sector during the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

The third edition of BYH Exhibition will bring together leading industry experts, government entities and Qatari nationals under one roof. Visitors will gain expert advice, discover the latest architectural and interior trends, connect to consultants that can lead their projects, and procure the materials they need to build their dream home.

Since its inception in 2020, BYH Exhibition has received unwavering government assistance, a press statement noted. This high-level backing has provided a solid foundation for the future of the exhibition resulting in the increase of its range of exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, contractors, participating government entities and visitors. Consultants, contractors and suppliers can also look forward to an increasing interest in new builds, renovations and construction materials.

Qatari homebuilders can look forward to discovering more about latest innovation in smart home technology via BYH Exhibition’s Knowledge Sharing Conference. In addition to a varied programme of speakers, masterclasses, and live demos sharing expertise and insights, this year’s edition includes a virtual conference themed ‘Future & Smart Living’.

Based on the rising trend of user-friendly features and tech-oriented residential properties, the Future & Smart Living Conference will feature the latest innovation, which offers a cost-effective and energy-saving living environment for homeowners and families.

More exhibition programme details will be released in the coming weeks. Highlights include the Junior Designer Competition, which seeks to encourage creativity and enable students to hone their interior design skills. Plus, further information about the exclusive prize-winning raffle draw will be given, which is open to all event attendees.

Visitor safety is of utmost importance, the organisers have stressed. BYH Exhibition will strictly follow the guidance and regulations issued by the Ministry of Public Health and ensure that the venue is sanitised twice each day. Participants' and visitors’ health status via the Ehteraz app will be checked before being allowed inside, and mask-wearing will be reinforced.

Visitors will also have to pre-register to attend the event, enabling the event organisers to monitor the capacity of the exhibition halls. One can find out more about BYH Exhibition at www.buildyourhouseqatar.com
