2,177 transactions of land transport licensing completed in Q1 this year

As many as 2177 transactions related to land transport licensing were completed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the first quarter of this year.

Out of total 2177 transactions, 1394 transactions are of land transport activities, 561 are related to limousine business activities and 222 are related to car rental business activities.

 According to data recently posted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications on its Twitter account, key services provided under land transport activities include issuing and renewing commercial registers; issuing and renewing commercial licenses; adding an activity to commercial registers among others.

In land transport activities, 737 transactions were completed for issuing and renewing commercial registers while 602 transactions were made for issuing and renewing commercial licenses.

For limousine business activities, 285 transactions were completed for issuing and renewing commercial registers while 262 transactions were made for issuing and renewing commercial licenses.

Meanwhile another post of the MoTC reveals that over 9 million transactions have been executed in last four years by the Government Contact Center (Hotline 109), a project of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) under Qatar Digital Government initiative. 

The Government Contact Center (Hotline 109) offers support services for the public and answers their inquiries relating to all government services.

According to information on the MoTC website, complying with the vision outlined in Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy and seeking to enrich Qatar residents with government e-services experience, the e-Government Steering Committee decided to apply a single sign-on platform for all government e-services and unify all e-services supported through Qatar Government Contact Center (QGCC) (109) to receive public inquiries and complaints 24/7.

Another tweet of the Ministry shows how Qatar successfully managed continuity of business during crisis situation. “Crisis Management and Business Continuity Plan in the State of Qatar supports remote work system thanks to government shared services and infrastructure readiness to providing electronic services to individuals and businesses,” MoTC tweeted recently.

The tweet indicates that crisis management and business continuity plan in Qatar for supporting remote work revolves around four core principles including rolling out policies and framework; activating the crisis management task force; securing best customer services; and adopting remote work mechanism.

It also points out the government shared services which ensure smooth sailing of remote working and continuity in business including Government Network, Government e-Correspondence System, Government Data Exchange, Government Data Center, Government Contact Center ‘109’, and SMS Gateway.

The Ministry’s infographic also reveals availability of over 1,000 digital services and 40 smartphone apps by government entities as well as regular update of all services via Hukoomi.
