Position Title:    Senior Project Evaluator
Business Division:    Petrochemical Projects
Primary Purpose of the Job:
At departmental level, participate, capture, analyze and integrate project data and market information in order to evaluate and implement the project strategy and provide the analytical basis to support decisions in the development and implementation of multi-billion dollar downstream Joint Ventures and Overseas Investments.
Develop, use and modify models to support project evaluation and to assess business risks and their impact on QP projects. The position is mandated to screen potential partners, analyze investment projects analyze market conditions and evaluate opportunities to maximize return on investment and partnership success The position specializes in developing and using business models, evaluating financial risk, preparing financial forecasts, financing scenarios, accessing and supporting the development of refining, petrochemical and manufacturing markets and business opportunities that monetize feedstock and natural gas natural reserves as well as business acquisition and international investment. As such, the position supports the departments’ leadership and accountability in developing these opportunities and other requirements.
Education:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Petroleum/Chemical Engineering/Economics with strong awareness of Economics and Business Development is required.An advanced degree is advantageous (e.g., Masters in Business, Economics, etc.).
Experience & Skills:
10 years minimum of industry experience in Oil & Gas, refining, petrochemicals, experience in project economics in development of venture companies is a plus.
Experience in structuring and working with sophisticated project appraisal business models in a competitive market setting Professional membership of internationally recognized project management and/or business associations Experience in a development agency or as a consultant is a plus.Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.Analytical experience in business, finance or strategic planning of development projects is required. Knowledgeable in project economics, legal matters and project finance. Strong awareness of the oil & gas supply chain and related key parameters.Experience with Excel, SAP, Powerpoint, MS Project and VBA applications is desirable. Solid economic analysis, communication, and interpersonal skills Risk management, Decision making and Data base development.Proficient in the use of risk analysis tools and establishing methodology. Provide economic models and analytical input to support the project decisions. Oil and gas risk analysis and portfolio optimization is a plus.Develop economic analysis and economic models to support the integrated project; experience modeling integrated developments is a plus; Has the ability to win the confidence of others for buy-in and approval.Sound knowledge and proficient analytical capability of economic principles and application to the hydrocarbon process industry, Risk economics analysis of multi-project opportunities.Broad exposure to functional and economic aspects of refining and petrochemical industries is preferred. Highly motivated, dynamic and able to exercise influence with outstanding communication skills. Excellent oral/written communication skills in English are required. Arabic is a plus.
